Anisa currently resides in Geneva and is a very passionate, enthusiastic and happy Yoga teacher. She is teaching at Geneva’s most prestigious studios like INNERCITYOGA, Swiss Pilates and Yoga Fit for Life and also working with numerous corporate and private clients
Previously, Anisa lived in London for 16 years where she studied Classical Archaeology at Kings College and worked for 8 years in Investor Relations and Marketing in various funds.
During her time in the finance industry, Anisa came to study yoga to counteract the stress of a fast paced life and to heal a neck injury. She was amazed with the recovery that she experienced together with the general sense of wellbeing that she was feeling on the mat and in life. Not only was she gaining strength, flexibility and healing injuries but yoga helped her view other areas of her life like nutrition, the relationship with her body and others in a more holistic, balanced way. .
As her studies and passion for yoga grew steadily more intense, Anisa gradually moved into teaching. After following and getting inspired by her beloved teacher Stewart Gilchrist in London. Anisa got certified to teach yoga with inspirational yogi Doug Swenson in California.
She completed the course with high standards and is now Yoga Alliance Certified 200hr teacher in Sadhana Yoga Chi. Asana practice techniques of - Vinyasa Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Power Yoga, Yin Yoga, and Restorative Yoga.
Anisa’s dynamic Vinyasa style classes balance precise instruction, alignment with breath, fluid movement and emphasize thoughtful sequencing. Classes are carefully themed to deepen the students' experience of yoga and modifications are used to individualize the practice for each practitioner.
Her classes are paced moderately to vigorously depending upon the level. Her yoga is also practical and geared toward addressing modern issues like releasing neck pain from computer usage and neutralizing the stress of a hectically paced day. Her approach to yoga is safe, compassionate and skillful.
Anisa believes that we are all eternal yoga students and always finds ways to deepen her practice and teaching. She is currently undertaking her advanced yoga studies with the distinguished Yoga Works and has enrolled in a Nutrition course to be able to advise
clients on an optimal, healthy diet that best suits them.
She is eternally grateful to her teachers past and present who have had a profound effect on her style of teaching.
Through her teachings, Anisa is hoping to inspire others to live a healthy and active life by the continual practice of yoga, exercise, conscious eating habits and holistic lifestyle.
